Play golf in Marbella

One of the best things about summer in Marbella is that a holiday in the resort gives you the chance to play golf. And thanks to a time-old agreement between Rio Real and some of the best golf clubs in Spain, you have the opportunity to play golf in Marbella for less. All you have to do is get in touch and find out how membership of your golf club gives you benefits at Rio Real Golf and Hotel.

What’s in it for you

If you’re a member of one of the golf courses in Spain that has an agreement with Rio Real (see the list below or contact us reservas@rioreal.com to find out) you’re in luck. Not only can you play golf in Marbella for less but you get discounts in the Rio Real Pro Shop and at the Academy. Furthermore, if you want to make a golfing break of it, generous discounts apply at Rio Real Hotel too.

Specifically, you’re entitled to 15% off all golf fees. A 10% discount applies on purchases at our Pro Shop – make the most of the opportunity to stock up on essential golf equipment. And you also get 10% off classes at our Academy. Why not use your summer break to perfect your swing or get some new techniques

And then there’s Rio Real Boutique Hotel, at the heart of the golf course and with frontline views of the greens from all the rooms. Our exclusive agreements mean club members qualify for a 10% discount on the hotel tariff too. Take a look at where you could be staying this summer when you play golf in Marbella.

Time-old agreements

As one of the most established golf courses on the Costa del Sol, Rio Real has forged strong links with courses throughout Spain. These links allow members from other clubs to come to Rio Real and play golf in Marbella at a discounted rate.

Rio Real currently has agreements with several courses in Madrid. They include Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo, Club de Golf Puerta de Hierro and Golf La Moraleja. Agreements are also in place for the Club de Golf La Barganiza in Asturias and Club de Golf Zuasti in Pamplona, both in Northern Spain and with Club de Golf Zarapicos in Salamanca to the north-west of Madrid.

But Rio Real agreements also extend to other golf courses on the Costa del Sol giving members of clubs in this part of southern Spain the opportunity to play golf in Marbella in different locations at discounted prices. This is the case with Golf Aloha, RACE, Club de Golf Marbella, Real Club de Golf Las Brisas and Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, a course designed by Javier Arana like Rio Real .

Not a member?

But if you’re not a member of one of the above golf courses, you can still get some great deals when you play golf in Marbella at Rio Real. We’ve just introduced an exciting new system of dynamic prices that always offer the best deal for a round of golf.

Andalucia`s Gateway

It always makes a good pub quiz question. What is the geographical centre of Andalucía? Historically, and semi-officially, Antequera (near the northern border of Málaga province) is considered to hold that honour – at least for tourist brochure purposes. However, earlier this year a report by the National Centre for Geographical Information argued that the exact centre is in the small Córdoba municipality of Monturque. Other key cities in the region have their own claims to fame: Sevilla, the official capital; Cádiz, the oldest city in the western world; Málaga, the Andalucian capital of international tourism…

Golf and Tennis… Marbella’s Sporting Haven

When it comes to golfMarbella is recognised as Spain’s premier destination. The town has the highest number of courses of any municipality in Spain, but it is just as much (even more) about quality as it is about quantity. Several of the courses have hosted European Tour events (as well as the World Cup in 1973 and 1989) while others such as Río Real are regular venues for premier national and international amateur tournaments. The same applies to tennis
